The Gift and the Giver

When you are given a gift from someone special, you treasure the gift as a reflection of your relationship with that person.

The Bible is laced with our responsibility for the world in which we live, and ultimately our care of the planet is a reflection of our relationship with God.

This is ultimately a matter of some balance, as clearly we are to make use to the gift which we have been given, not simply gaze at it, however we have not been given a gift to abuse.

The creation, the environment in which we live, has the capacity to nurture and sustain us, bt there is an implicit relationship of trust and care here, for if we do not care for the environment, then in the end it will no longer be able to sustain us.

Ecology - the consideration of our relationship with the natural world - is rightly part of our mission and purpose, our understanding of the faith, and is rightly one of the five marks of mission.
